5:0 streak in Euroleague and a first official loss in the VTB

Last week "Zalgiris" played two games. The first one was a Euroleague one against Istanbul "Anadolu Efes", in which Marko Popovic exploded by scoring 21 points - all of them behind the three points line. After the first half the teams were tied at 37:37, but after four three pointers from Popovic, "Zalgiris" took a convincing lead and hold it until the buzzer announced the end of the match. The final score was 77:64. This fifth straight win for "Zalgiris" in the Euroleague should be a threatening message to all of our opponents.

The next game was against Riga "VEF". As you already know from the title - we lost ( 72:77 ). During the third quarter it seemed that we had the game in our hands, but we gave it away by bad plays and weak teamwork. This game is a cold shower, which can be positive for the team. Now they won't have so much pressure, as they lost their first game. Moreover, every lost game can be a good practise, so it's not that bad that we lost. Ksystof Lavrinovic made 18 points and got 6 rebounds, Ibrahim Jabeer 10 points, Marko Popovic 9 points.
